Anyone know how many managers have been hired since 2007? With the newest three how many does that make? Total IPA gains of 17 since the last class of 2007 till now and there has to be more managers hired in the same time. Anyone know for sure? Almost seems like a one to one ratio.

17? How so?

There's a reason why no pax carriers in world use md11 anymore. Luckily ups seems to have a better than average track record flying it which I hope they continue.

Simple math. Looked at where I was at Nov 2007 and how many guys I had behind me on the list and looked at how many guys are behind me after the latest reshuffle. With 40 line pilots we hired we have had a net gain of 17. I knew we had lost a few to passings and getting jobs at other airlines but 13?

Its surprising to me that no one really knows how many managers have been added to the list since 07. Pretty easy question to answer, maybe we just don't know or don't want to know.

Don't forget that you had about 150 PFEs senior to you on the list as well who are no longer employed. I guess I'm fatigued because I don't understand how it's 17 when we hired 40 last year. I know some furloughed guys are still on mil leave but their names are in the list. Doesn't matter as we all agree the list needs to grow at the bottom because of such few retirements at the top.

One of the newest management "captains" hired last week didn't start flying until 5 years after the most junior real captain was hired at UPS. She has all RJ experience but will now be instructing on the 757!

There are 18 fewer total IPA pilots on the 1 Feb 15 seniority list than there were on the 1 Feb 14 seniority list.

It's ups policy. At the time of the interview if they feel you're not competent enough as a line pilot then you be offered the yes man / women position.

If you look at how many were below you before the furlough and now you will come up with a number. I know how many were below me at the time of the furlough and when everyone was recalled (including those on mil), I was 16 numbers closer to the bottom of the list.

If you were 250 from the bottom prior to the furlough, but only 234 from the bottom after the recall, when they hired the 40 that makes it 274 from he bottom. Net gain of 24.
