UPS?

They have been interviewing, I do know that. I would call or email the HR department, it is rumored that apps and the pool are flushed ever year and re-filled. I don't mean to burst a bubble or spread a rumor, But I have heard this from more than one person that has spoken to out HR folks.
This is the place that does things exactly like that without telling perspective candidates, their belief is any unnecessary contact with you might obligate them to employ you someday, and that's a real sentiment.
Also know that they had a class of folks that had quit their jobs and left their employers only to be delayed because we were 'överstaffed" for a day.
IMHO it will not hurt you to call or email and verify if you are still in the pool or if you need to reapply. Do not assume they will tell you otherwise, call and find out. Maybe someone here that has a rec on file for someone could verify, but this is what I have heard.
Carry on......

Hopefully you can snag a spot at another carrier. I think they are just interviewing to resupply the pool. Since it has drained to low numbers. They really are just using everyone. For the contingency if they need anyone later. Which is not there. 120 Hired the last 8 years! No new flying. Young overall group. No Aircraft Orders. You can do the math.
The only Hiring is for retirements. Which is still a long shot. Since they are not replacing one for one. The List is shrinking. UPS does not need the numbers anymore. With Team Drivers and everyone using three day deliveries and such.
In about 10 years there will be a Hiring binge. Not now.
And by the way, this place is a dark cave. Go to the Sunlight.

A guy I know talked to UPS at a recent job fair, the recruiter at the fair is very high up in manpower planning. He said 80 new hires for sure in 2016, and up to 200 depending on a contract being signed.
Lots of us patiently swimming trying to gather the good, and rather limited, information in these threads.

They can tell you what they WANT to do.
Only UPS HQ (Atlanta) can authorize hiring.
So the real answer is wait and see what happens.

I know poolies added later in 2015 who were contacted and told to fill out a 2016 app just to be current. Not flushed. Still swimming.

Best of luck to you and the rest of guys looking for employment. The truth is no one here knows anything, to include line pilots, management pilots, airline manpower, vice-pres, and even president of the airline. Atlanta dictates what happens and unless its in writing I would not believe anything anyone says. Thats just UPS, sorry I couldn't be more help to you and others looking.
Other than that, I understand 100% that everyone in SDF is treated like a mushroom by ATL HQ.

I think the 80&200 numbers are just to attract attention and applications. Global shipping is down and no significant expansion of express delivery services that directly affect the air district have been announced or even speculated on; note, the company is growing in other areas. The MD and 74 just saw guys displaced and have little to no open time, suggesting they are currently still overstaffed on those fleets. No signs of short staffing on the 75 and haven't heard any mumblings from the bus folks so the need at this moment in time is questionable. But, guys are constantly retiring. The other new guys I talk to agree that we may see a class or two in 2016. The contract is just as likely to increase efficiency / reduce the staffing demands as it is to do the opposite so no hiring and even a small furlough could be on the extended horizon. For your planning, the last class they would prefer to run would be in September as they avoid training during peak (end of year), so 200 is already out of the question. At this point I'd be thinking 20, maybe 30.
Brown wasn't / wouldn't be my top choice but nor would it be my bottom when stacked up against all the majors and better LCC's. There is a lot of expectations on this next contract and the guys won't accept anything less than a pretty F'in good package so maybe some good news is on the horizon........Expectation Zero
