Thanks Tom, I have read many of his books and enjoyed them for entertainment. He was a very interesting individual. Never met him, but his biography borders on the insane.

Never considered a book, but maybe I'll start writing of few of my tales down and can generate a short comic book. I haven't owned a TV since 1992, so I do a lot of reading and actually try to think a little. This can be difficult.

You may enjoy some of P.J. O'rourke's books. He once worked as a writer for National Lampoon, but has become famous for his wry commentary on life, politics, war, and governments. He makes some good points and is very funny.

Thanks for your kind remarks.

Hunter S. Thompson

I visited his house outside Aspen when I was stationed at Peterson AFB. Had a few beers at the woody creek tavern as well...

I've got pictures of his peacock farm - I'll dig them up when I visit mom and see about getting them posted on-line...

I hesitated clicking on this. I had fun with the 160th there in the early 90s, I don't want to remember the rest.

ah the author of "Fear and loathing in Los Vegas." Yeah Somalia seems to be in terrible conditions these days as well. The Ethopians attacked a couple of months ago out of fear of the rise of more islamic extremism from the country.
