Agree DAL. I would not have known about it but for One Six Right. These pictures were taken near 16R from the adjacent taxiway. Taking nice pictures there is easy, and they allow pedestrians onto the taxiway. If you stand by the runway for an hour you will have all the snapshots you can handle. If you get tired of that, you can walk around to all the small airplane hangars and talk to the owners. I talked to the fellow with the Piper Cub starring in One Six Right, as well as a bunch of local historians who told me some interesting things about the place, such as the hangar shown in the background of my last photo was the factory for the North American F-86 Sabre Fighter Jet.

Pic number three is the pace plane for the National Championship Air Races at Stead, hence "Pacemaker."
Also serves as the primary safety/chase plane overhead. Thankfully, not needed in that capacity last week. Voodoo split-s'ed to Rwy 14 before Hinton could complete the rejoin.
