Don't forget to click on the icon in the advanced page for inserting a picture.
Then copy and paste the URL from Flickr right into the box (deleting what is automatically populated in the box on the forum)

Don't think so.
Well...without looking over your shoulder it is hard to say if you say you are following the directions to a tee.
Why don't you write down exactly what you are doing and post it here?
when you find out what you are doing wrong you're going to go batty!

He is not posting a direct link, just a URL address. A direct link is required unless you just want to post a link to the photo. I can't remember what Flickr offers but I am sure it is just like Photobucket which offers multiple linking options below each picture. One of them is titled "direct link", that's one you want. Copy that URL, go back to your post at APC, hit this button (below), and paste the URL in the window, close and post.

So, I was doing right all the time. The tutorial shows the picture showing up right away in the display area, it doesn't, not until you either pre-view it and or post it. Thanks to the Mod and the Cub for the help, you can close this one down...thks
