I have quite a bit of time in a Cessna 210, equipped similarly, and flying similar missions, but no a/c in our aircraft. All of us that flew it in the summertime (in SoCal) would have loved to have a/c......... the guys flying it now are STILL asking for a/c to be installed, but it hasn't happened yet. And yes, we did open the windows! But the rush of wind - while it felt great - did have some disadvantages. Too much air flow on the Observer/sensor operator in the back, and not enough on the pilot, unless you hang your arm out the window to deflect some airflow onto you! And the rush of wind often wreaked havoc on the hot mic communications. The problem we ran into when looking into a/c was electrical capacity to power it, in addition to all the other non-standard mission gear. You need a big-ass generator/alternator to power it all, and while it can be done, it is not a simple thing on the 210, not sure about the 206.
