Adventure on the high seas.

I went on one over New Years - 2006.
I thought it would be all primary colors and Disney characters bugging you every 3 minutes at dinner.
We met quite a few people traveling WITHOUT children.
One particular couple were experiences cruise veterans. I asked them why they would go on a Disney cruise if they didn't have children. They said that Disney was in the top of the cruise lines.
My experience was a very good one except for the Castaway Island on the last day. Big storms, rain, cold, windy, etc.... Kind of ruined the whole day at the deserted island thing.

Always wondered what a TransAtlantic crossing would be like .

I'm looking at my next vacation to be an Alaskan cruise. I was thinking Holland America, but if Disney goes I might look into that line too.
Anybody else have experience with any lines that tour Alaska?

Engineer pal of mine from Cessna who was single with no kids did an Alaska area cruise a couple of years back and he seemed to have a blast. He made our entire department sit through a slide show looking at projector slides during a lunch hour. It was interesting and I would consider doing one. It really does pack a lot in a short period of time and they know how to make it fun. I think if I were able to make the time though I would just drive up there in a 4WD and do some hunting. Maybe shoot a small moose. Is that legal?

Highly recommended
Yes, on Princess and Royal Caribbean; both were great. For a good rate, check interline sites like:
Dargal Interline Worldwide — Interline Agency to the World,
Interline Travel and Cruises from ABSea,
Perx.com by Interline Vacations — Discount cruises, resorts, and tours for interliners
The easiest is a round-trip Inside Passage cruise from SEA, but if you do a one-way starting or ending in ANC you can package it with a train trip to Denali. Definitely recommend spending the extra to get a balcony cabin.
Some good side trips you can purchase on board are:
--whale-watching boat & Mendenhall Glacier tour @ Juneau
--floatplane into Misty Fjord @ Ketchikan
--White Pass Railroad to the Yukon @ Skagway
--Butchert Gardens tour @ Victoria, B.C.
