That is more like it!

We have been trying for a while to go there, but the marine layer has been putting the airport below minimums.
It's usually better in the winter, keep an eye out for a north wind. It will usually keep the airport clear but will produce some nasty turbulence on downwind. In the summer time I'll try and take a WAAS equipped airplane. The LPV mins are 300-1 if I recall.

It's a great place to visit, there is a good diner midfield but my preference is to park on the south end and either eat at the brewery or at Barbra's Fish Trap (cash only). There are a few other places there but I have not tried them yet.

Were you based out of Beale? The airport of constant TFRs for us in the Sacramento valley.
I was indeed. Beale is the home base for the U-2. Please don't blame the TFR problem on the U-2 though. The U-2 has a pilot flying it and can see and avoid. You can thank the Global Hawk for the TFR mess.
Simply wow!

Awesome! If I end up making it out there again I will be sure to stop for food.

Speaking of Concord, anything to do there? Never been to this part of the country before.

That depends. In the CCR area, nothing really. If you have a car there is plenty...

Hit golf balls at the driving range, other than that there is not much within walking distance, just car dealerships. With a car yes, there is plenty to do but Concord is nothing fancy, just a typical suburban sprawl.
