I saw it at the Paris airshow, 89. The horizontal stabilizer was big enough to park 4 to 6 F-4s on it. They also had the Buran (Space shuttle) on top of it.

The An-124 is regularly seen in Houston, doing outsized airlift. One or two 225s are flying, and Antonov is thinking of building another, if they can get funding...apparently the outsized cargo business is booming. (Oil-drilling equipment is the primary customer).

Somewhere I've got pictures of a 124 and 225 on the ramp at IAH together.

Great flyers, my uncle got a ride somewhere with them.

The -225, a -124, and two Atlas 747's were in MSP all at once last summer. Never got an explanation for the entourage.

I got a tour of the cockpit and upper deck while it set as static display during the 2001 Paris Air Show. A David Clark headset hung on the left yoke, a nondescript black facsimile of a headset hung on the right yoke. When I asked about it, the pilot frowned and explained, "Russian piece of sh!+!"

Two were ordered, only one was ever completed. There have been at least 2 efforts to complete the second, but I don't think it's happened yet.
