FDX vs AA Pay Rates...

I would like to think that a pilot would be equally prepared (depending on the airplane they fly) to fly to Indianapolis as they are to fly to Toronto, Monterrey, Narita, or Paris (I spelled them out for those who might not recognize the Canada, Mexico, Japan, and France identifiers ), but I'm afraid that's not always the case. It's been a while since I've crossed the Atlantic myself, and I know there have been FCIFs about new procedures I haven't used yet.
I agree that we have a responsibility to prepare for those tasks, and I don't consider that Company work. That's me being proficient in my job. That's professionalism.
Another part of professionalism is showing up for work ON TIME ready (prepared) to START work.

I don't know, HIFLYER, by Tony's definition, you just might not be competent because you are looking at anything related to your particular flight before show.
"The second possibility is the pilot is not sufficiently knowledgeable, competent, or skilled to accomplish the required tasks in the scheduled time. If that's the case, he can strive to become more knowledgeable, competent, and skilled, or he can always start early, and hope he never gets a reserve assignment with late call parking."
About not logging onto PFC early, is that because there could be a trip revision that you don't want to know about? You don't have to pick up notifications, but they always manage to track me down. Whether it's a phone call, a knock on the door, whatever. I guess I haven't cracked the code.

I remember getting lectured by a Bus Captain a few years ago because I didn't show up 15 minutes early for a line check. And he contended that is HIS sop and he sent me an email to let me know.. Btw, I was on hotel stby and had no clue.... Was that you?

That's a bummer that you've flown with so many people you disliked. I liked almost everyone I have flown with as an FO (except the few that have fortunately retired), and most everyone I've flown with as a captain. It always amazes me that there is so much venom on APC. Sometimes I think there is no way that these are the same people that I fly with, and see in the crew room.

FDX vs AA Pay Rates...
Good to hear.. Busdriver12. Your comments just came off as such.. Anybody remember when show time was a problem and they changed all pairings to +15? Forget why that stopped... It was around the time Zero took over for Jack (I think?). Or was it when PC took over as VP... D@mn. Can't remember. Seems like they can solve this problem when it becomes a problem.. I guess that was my point.. I don't know.
PS, I do remember exactly who it was.. Both Captain and LCA retired Air Force 0-6s, living near their Alma Mater... Always remember all the bad experiences.. And some of the good..
