I'm pretty sure he was talking about the frequent flyer program.

Geez, I guess I was tired when I first read it. Thanks for the catch.

Yeah, I had to laugh a little when I saw this! I wish it was that easy and quick, but to answer your question.

Crew Resources Worldwide - I finished the application around August 2014. I had my pre-screening October 2014. I interviewed in January 2015. Heard from them in mid February. Class date July 6th.

They wanted me to start in May, but I asked them if I could take the July class because my son was born in April. They were very accommodating. Great experience but it is a long process. I recommend Crew 100%! They have been very helpful!

Background-
TT 4000'ish around time of interview
CRJ 200 FO -2300hrs US regional
CFI - 1400HRS
BS Business Administraion

Good luck!

I am United Mileage Plus member. When you get here with your resident visa you want to register with the city and get your residency card (only a couple of blocks from the apartments). With that card and your visa you can get exempted from the new United rules that require so much money spent on United flights since you'll have an international address. With the new rules you gain miles based on ticket price. I'm silver (almost gold), and my last one-way trip from NRT-ORD in business netted just over 20,000 miles! I am estimating once I get Diamond each one-way trip will be 30-35,000 miles, so maybe 60-70,000 a month! I wanted to keep with United because I already had an account and thought it would be easier to use within the US for myself and family. I also have their Chase Visa which has no foreign transaction fees and which I use for travel for even more miles.

I am UAL 1K and get about 37000 for each roundtrip. Travelling NRT-ORD-CVG and back each month. I am however looking for ways to avoid the PQD requirement. What a bunch of crap that is. It wouldn't be so bad if ANA hadn't put in the second flight each day. Used to be you could get on the UA flight in the afternoon and that would satisfy the dollar requirement. Now it is ANA all the time. Debating on whether to change to the ANA program. Just not sure how the mileage redemption works.

Thanks Foxtrot, that's some good info!
Congrats on the new family member and career. I'll have to just wait and see what happens with AJ.

They actually buy you full fare Business class tickets? They don't use the interline deals? That's a nice perk

Yep, full fare business class to any city in the world ! We are pretty much almost all members of some airline mileage program, be it ANA, UAL, DAL, LH, EK or who ever flies to your home town

You avoid the United PQD requirement entirely and are exempt if you register an address outside the US. Just have to provide two documents to prove the address.

Yep, but the problem is getting those two documents. Just have to work on that one.
