JetBlue: WELCOME TO THE CLUB!

ALPA is what you make it. Get involved. Go to council meetings. It all depends on you.

No one does a better job of advocating for the profession than ALPA.

Congratulations JetBlue pilots! This profession is what we make of it. We have to be actively engaged and work together to achieve the best results for all of us.

“We must act collectively. There is no middle of the road on this proposition. You must be whole-heartedly with your brother pilots

You must be willing to cooperate to the end for a strong, common-sense organization. Most important of all, you must do some work and take some interest yourself. Don’t just wait for things to happen and then sit around and grumble because they do not by chance or otherwise come about. Jump in and do your part!”

So, when do we get a list of who's interested in running for rep/MEC positions. If we don't get a good team there as well as the negotiating committee, we're dead in the water. The guys I've talked to that I thought would do well for us aren't interested in rep positions.

As someone else in the thread already stated, we need people that are level headed, realistic in their expectations and not in it for a free ride. Hard workers rather than politicians. I know one guy based on what I've heard him say would be great but has no ALPA experience. Honestly, I'd rather have someone that DOESN'T have ALPA experience than someone who's got years of ALPA experience but the wrong attitude.

Hopefully we can stick with the silo system instead of a base rep system, too.

I would guess more spin will be coming. Wall Street Journal has a big article about the vote today too. Same salary stats and that we have better benefits. Corporate hates unions. Look at Delta holds them off every year. The WSJ article does mention a good point from ALPA, that with the CBA they (management) should be able to better budget future costs.
