When I fly in the Guard, one of my steps in grounds ops is to turn off VHF guard due to all the crap on that freq. I can leave UHF guard up because it's only used for radio checks by ATC and actual emergencies. When I fly at the airline it's turned up just enough to hear something real, but not loud enough to be annoyed by childish transmissions. What's amazing is these idiots continue their diatribe when people are actually using guard for it's intended purpose.

Did it ever occur to you guys that the three Delta pilots screaming "On Gurard" every time may not even have a computer? I think they may not know APC has a problem with it. My question to them is how are they so fast with the response?

Personally I don't know what the hang up is with people saying "Guard" or "On Guard". I certainly fall into the twin commander left downwind call on guard at least once a year. It is useful as a single pilot to quickly hear the "guard" call before I clog up the frequency more which jeopardizes real emergencies and gets me onto the correct frequency so I can hear and people can hear me in the traffic pattern.
The people who intentionally say stupid stuff on guard I can certainly agree are an annoyance.

One thing NO-ONE, either the majors, regionals or any carrier teach, or instill, is the ICAO radio phraseology handbook/how to talk on the radio!!! Delta is about the worst I have heard around the world. Btw, 123.45 is NOT for idiots to discuss contracts. If everyone would take the time to read the ICAO Handbook the world would be a better place. Don't see it happening!
Hears three for free;
