On Guard!

One thing NO-ONE, either the majors, regionals or any carrier teach, or instill, is the ICAO radio phraseology handbook/how to talk on the radio!!! Delta is about the worst I have heard around the world. Btw, 123.45 is NOT for idiots to discuss contracts. If everyone would take the time to read the ICAO Handbook the world would be a better place. Don't see it happening!
Hears three for free;
1)Cleared for Take off! Not cleared to Go
2) Climb and Maintain FL 35 ZERO not 35 Oh!
3)Vacating runway 25L not clearing!
You're welcome. Never miss an opportunity to S T F U

I'm not wound too tight I am just reiterating what is being said. I did not start the thread. Radio useage is just very poor for no reason. The ICAO handbook is free and can be downloaded on your ipad. If you are going to do something why not do it right? Maybe poor radio technique is ok in the U.S. but not the rest of the world. If I hear "blocked" again I'll scream.
Take the time to read the handbook and maybe just maybe everyone can start talking on the radio correctly otherwise why does the handbook even exsist. Airlines and their checkers/trainers need to spend more time in this area.
I was yelled at once for saying direct La Garbage instead of La Guardia. It may seem trivial but I realized my checker was right and I worked hard at speaking on the radio correctly. It happens to be part of my job that I myself signed up for.
Isn't the point of the thread people ruining radio communications?

Can you please ask a moderator to change your handle to Braniff DC85 or the like. As we all know there is no generic ICAO code for the Douglas DC8 aircraft and you are in fact using an IATA code. On the General Lee forums this use of IATA codes may fly, but here we ascribe to doing it right.

Where I fly we all speak on the radio correctly as no-one understands bad radio phraseology Fins! You must be fun to listen to. Bleeding ears I can expect.
Being a Yank I can say this as it is true, American's on the radio are the worst.
Hey, what's the ride like? A DAL guy asking Bombay, no response of course.
Did I really have to spell decimal?

I also respectfully disagree that Delta is the worst. Prior to flying Airtran's Caribbean routes, SW had by far the WORST Radio Telephony procedures!
I do agree with you though, that correct radio phraseology has decreased dramatically. Some SW crews think it's cool to use slang e.g. in CUN, the result is confusion between ATC and SW and double or triple of transmissions needed.
