1)Cleared for Take off! Not cleared to Go
2) Climb and Maintain FL 35 ZERO not 35 Oh!
3)Vacating runway 25L not clearing!

You're welcome. Never miss an opportunity to S T F U
I guess some people don't follow their own advice.

I'm not wound too tight I am just reiterating what is being said. I did not start the thread. Radio useage is just very poor for no reason. The ICAO handbook is free and can be downloaded on your ipad. If you are going to do something why not do it right? Maybe poor radio technique is ok in the U.S. but not the rest of the world. If I hear "blocked" again I'll scream.

Take the time to read the handbook and maybe just maybe everyone can start talking on the radio correctly otherwise why does the handbook even exsist. Airlines and their checkers/trainers need to spend more time in this area.

I was yelled at once for saying direct La Garbage instead of La Guardia. It may seem trivial but I realized my checker was right and I worked hard at speaking on the radio correctly. It happens to be part of my job that I myself signed up for.

Isn't the point of the thread people ruining radio communications?

You're currently ruining the English language.

Great, another English professor. Dime a dozen 80knots. Stick to the topic. Not everyone is as smart as you.

Wait a minute. What's wrong with "blocked?" The two transmitting don't know they were blocked. It's very useful to hear "blocked" so the ATC guy can retransmit and get the show on the road.

Can you please ask a moderator to change your handle to Braniff DC85 or the like. As we all know there is no generic ICAO code for the Douglas DC8 aircraft and you are in fact using an IATA code. On the General Lee forums this use of IATA codes may fly, but here we ascribe to doing it right.

Being a Yank I can say this as it is true, American's on the radio are the worst.

Hey, what's the ride like? A DAL guy asking Bombay, no response of course.

Did I really have to spell decimal?
Yes! Moreover, not only did you fail to point out that the number 3 is not pronounced like the number 3 but rather like tree (you know the plant thing that people like to axe besides from a question), but also that the altimeter setting must be read back with the prefix QNH and with the appropriate unit suffix.

I also respectfully disagree that Delta is the worst. Prior to flying Airtran's Caribbean routes, SW had by far the WORST Radio Telephony procedures!

I do agree with you though, that correct radio phraseology has decreased dramatically. Some SW crews think it's cool to use slang e.g. in CUN, the result is confusion between ATC and SW and double or triple of transmissions needed.
