No one really cares that your pilots are happy when they spend twice as much time as every single other pilot group at "first year" wages. The whole problem with the regional industry is exactly your simple observation. Pilots are happy flying jets. The management takes advantage of this fact and continues to try and force concessions. The fact is your pay scale is embarrassing no matter how "happy" you claim to be. Your pilot group would be better off if the classes weren't full. Just look at what CommutAir management brought to their pilot group in order to recruit new pilots.
Your attitude is hurting this industry. Your rationalization is selfish. If you take your train of thought to its logically conclusion, you'd be willing to undercut major airline pilots just for a chance to sit in a Delta or United seat.

CBreezy wants everyone to get on here and complain about the contact. Everyone who works at Mesa, or any regional for that matter, knew what they were getting into if they had any sense to research the company beforehand. The only good that whining and b*tching does is undermine your own decision making and judgement relative to why you came to the regionals to begin with.

Some of my friends are Mesa pilots. They are really struggling to not accumulate significant debt and are draining their savings. Oh, and only being in Year 1, have another whole year of barely scraping by. No one flying a 76-seat, multi-million dollar jet should be making less than $30k a year, especially for 2 years straight. I don't think any 121 pilot should make less than $40k. I have no problem with any regional pilot group. I just don't like people content with your poor wages.

Sometimes I get confused here on APC (airline pilots crying) and think I'm on an episode of "The View." It's a place where people come to vent and complain, and it serves its purpose well.

Unfortunately there are still plenty of inexperienced applicants that fail to look beyond passing IOE, and taking that selfie on the flight deck for their myface page.

I'm curious and I really would like someone to explain this to me. Mesa has, arguably, the worst contract in the majors yet most Mesa pilots come on here and defend their company and brag about how full their classes are. Wouldn't the smarter move be sharing how poor the contract is and dissuade anyone from going there? As long as the classes are full, the union won't have any leverage for raising pay and QOL.

Personally, I generally speak well about this place because unlike Republic, I am treated like a human by CPs and Management at Mesa.
Also we don't have the worst contract, republic, Gojet and Great Lakes are worse if not much worse.
I don't think anyone is "bragging" that classes are full. Just giving factual information.

I'm curious and would like you to explain this to me, why does someone who is not employed by Mesa nor clearly has no intent of being employed by Mesa spend so much time and energy on this forum essentially "bashing" this company.

But, I do have to say that the EMB classes going through right now are the funniest bunch of intelligent people that I have associated with since the Beech 1900 days. It has really brought the fun back into work. And for any new FO's that are lucky enough to get the EMB 175 you will have a blast. Just a great group of captains.
