9E's Retention Bonus - A Mirage in the Desert

No I wasn't Gulfstream PFT, there was another flight school in which Pinnacle came to monthly and hired from there. While you are correct that the opportunity presented was great and I'm thankful, Pinnacle was hardly the only one doing that kind of hiring. Eagle, ASA, Mesa, Colgan, were all hiring similar low time guys back in '07 through the various Florida flight schools. That's just how it was back then in a regional shortage shortly before the recession and Age 65 hit back-to-back. Besides as others have been quick to point out, I was not at Endeavor. I was at Pinnacle which has long been gone in name and management so it's not the same company. You are correct it gave the platform and experience to move on and for that I'll always be thankful for Pinnacle.

Perhaps his point is first you voluntarily took concessions that brought about the 12/4 yr caps that are now in play at PSA and especially at Envoy. One might argue the recent regional demise pretty much started with the Endeavor concessions. Now apparently Endeavor is getting ~20k in bonus per year for 4 years which is an additional 80k per year. This is great news for everyone at Endeavor but it does rub other regionals the wrong way when one votes in concessions and then gets bonuses and gloats to be the #1 paying regional.
