It's really not though. If instead of studying the contract, we took the time used on that and picked up extra flying instead, we'd have made more money than the contract offers in a year. That's how negligible it is. Add onto that the definitively worse reserve rules, and it's plainly worse than our current contract.
I don't think it'll pass. We just need to get this vote over with and get on with our lives (and back to normal Mesa thread discussion).

I don't care, I'll be gone, or Mesa will be gone. Don't choose to work here if you don't want to. I'm not concerned with maintaining the Mesa status quo for the next generation. More money in my pocket now, even a little, is worth more than whatever else is in store down the road (there isn't any). If you work at Mesa, you're already harming the next generation of pilots.

All These recent bargaining agreements are all just horrible.
The CEOs and sr mgmt checking account is just fine and can get "more flying" if they have a good working relationship with the majors they fly for. That is the job of mgmt and what they are paid for.
But, they rather take their profits from labor because they can't admit they may SUCK at selling their product to a major.
This isn't all pay driven or who has the crappyist contract wins the golden ring on the carousel. Just FYI, the ring is fools gold anyway.
Mesa CEO was making in 2006 base pay 450,000 with 38% tax. (180,000)
Let's say he put 25,000 towards 401k, ira, health insurance, etc. His take home pay was 12,916 a month-back in 2006. But, he is ok with paying people far less than 2,500 a month before taxes ?!
This is all greed. It's " I want a nice life I deserve so, my family and me can have the American Dream." The dream is at the expense of the workers and tax payers. It's corporate welfare. When a company refuses the pay their an employee a "living wage" the employee can qualify for social programs such as section 42 (LIHTC), food stamps, or other aid, then there is a problem.
Every time a collective bargaining agreement comes out, it's like the old toxic relationship.. " He hits me cause he loves me, he just doesn't know how to show his feelings correctly and I know he is good, just a little flawed. It will all change once we get through the rough patch. He really really cares, I know."
Just insert HE with an airline and ... Well, ... :^/
