Up until now our growth has kept our classes full. Whether that continues remains to be seen.

Growth requires new pilots. Attracting new pilots, requires a competitive salary (bare minimum of $40+/hour) and competive contract. Upgrades are coming down everywhere and some regionals are even hiring direct entry captains. New hires will take at least a year and a half to get the 1000 hours required to upgrade anyway and by that time you'd be eligible to upgrade or nearly eligible to upgrade almost anywhere in a couple years from now. Things will be moving very quickly everywhere due to mainline hiring. So, bottom line, the "upgrade carrot" will not work anymore. At least it won't work for the more informed newcomer.

So, if Mesa wants to grow, or even attract enough pilots to stay status quo with upcoming attrition, they will have to offer competitive salaries and a competitive contract, just like everyone else.

An uncompetitive TA like the one offered, can be the end of Mesa. You can't fly planes without pilots. It's that simple.

I can't believe we've only had 99 votes so far.
I'm voting yes, hopefully we'll be able to get some more 175 flying for United.[/QUOTE

You will lose the United flying just like you lost the delta flying out of JFK
I don't care, I'll be gone, or Mesa will be gone. Don't choose to work here if you don't want to. I'm not concerned with maintaining the Mesa status quo for the next generation. More money in my pocket now, even a little, is worth more than whatever else is in store down the road (there isn't any). If you work at Mesa, you're already harming the next generation of pilots.

With this attitude you will never be hired at a major unless you are a future scab !!!

To those of you new to the industry, this is what you typically see with most "real" ALPA chapters when your MEC says "we secured improvements in all sections and unanimously voted to send this TA to a vote":

"The Trans States MEC kicked off a series of road shows this week to discuss the details of the contract-extension LOA reached with management in August. The tentative agreement provides TSA pilots with the second-best 50-seat pay rate in the industry for both captains and first officers starting in 2016. The three-year deal also secures cost-of-living adjustments, 401(k) improvements, large reductions in capped insurance premiums, and a signing bonus, among other gains."

Aren't all the 175s UAL is getting accounted for? In other words, isn't UAL scoped out?

According to roadshow remaining options for RJ's Delta 30 crj-900, United 35 E-jet, American 16 CRJ-900
