I recently read LEC C16 and there were a few paragraphs in there from their chairman about the PMRC proposal. The most persuasive argument against the raise that I have yet to hear a good rebuttal was the idea that there isn't a shortage of volunteers and most of them do so because it's a higher calling of service to the pilot group (despite the disgusting narrative from some posters here or on other social media platforms) and that this raise would only stand to increase volunteers who are interested in making more money without having to fly.
