With the speed of things...If your proposed TA at a regional is not industry-leading IN ALL ASPECTS these days, it deserves a solid "NO" vote.

United needs you guys desperately. Don't believe the management trolls who come on here and say "it'll be years until you get another offer." That's not the way it works these days.

At another regional, the mechanics got a really $hi- offer, voted it down, and had another offer with leading pay (for a regional) a couple months later...

Again, this industry isn't what it used to be.
What concerns me is the margin. The company sees that it failed by only 3 votes and knows it won't take much to get those few more yes votes.

Never liked ALPA MEC representation. They just don’t care about AWAC pilot group. I think it’s time to cut them loose. A bunch of corrupt, selfish thugs. Imho.

Has anything come out of the Union since this was voted down? No payday hotline either?

The recall process is fairly straight forward. Just start a resolution at your next LEC meeting. Or just send the people you want out an email telling them it's time for new leadership and you will be starting the recall process if they don't leave. My guess is many of them will not want to go through the recall process and just leave the position.

Rumor has it the MEC removed all the members of the negotiating committee
Still trying to confirm this

What lead to this TA even being presented to your pilot group? With general conditions and your situation in particular (50 seaters that UA needs), that in & of itself seems really odd.

I’m even more surprised that it only failed by 3 votes. What led almost 50% of the pilot group to vote ‘yes’?

I don’t mean to be a jackwad in asking these questions, but I’m truly at a loss in how this played out as it did so I appreciate anyone who’s good enough to take the time to explain a bit.

Their reps spent more time paying for free food to convince the pilots this was the best they could do after wasting 8 years of resources.

Also I hear the former MEC leader CS stepped down months ago, yet he’s still on ALPA leave.... why is he on ALPA leave if he stepped down?

He’s on ALPA leave for national work. It’s legitimate

A better question would be “why don’t we have a negotiating committee yet and why do we keep getting emails reminding us that we’re looking for a membership committee chairman when THE NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE IS STILL EMPTY.”
