I have been reading the Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual, to get a basic understanding of some of the systems and also been going through sheppard air for a couple weeks now.

One random question, I've been told the hotel I am staying at is the Red Lion inn, anyone know if there is a kitchenette in the room?
Flight Crew Manual
Flight Training Manual vol 1&2
They are accessible through your company issued iPad
No kitchenette

If the first thing out of your instructor's mouth is "I'm supposed to be off this week but I'm here for the 200 Percent pay", request someone else or at the very least, make sure they cover the basics with you and don't jump all over the folder to be a good guy for the other instructors. You will be cheated out of important training and wasting sim time and ultimately flunk out of the program.

Or “I need to be home at night this week, so here I am.”
Word for word off the powerpoints and eye rolls at every question.

Great...

I had no issues with the ground training. Systems was excellent. The sim instructors, who I wish not to name, were awful. Allowed you to make the same mistakes over and over without any assistance. Kept playing with their cellular phones behind us. The did not care if you moved on or not as long as their paycheck was fat. I know it sounds like I am bitter. I'm not. But as an instructor myself, I was not impressed with the sim experience. I have heard the same issues in ATL and CVG locations.

And I had the opposite experience. Only had one bad instructor, and that was in ground. All my CPT / SIM guys were good.

For OP, come in ready to work, and do what’s put in front of you. Indoc and Systems are straightforward if you complete the homework assigned and maybe read ahead if you have the time for the next days systems so things are at least familiar. Arrive to CPT with everything memorized down cold...simple as that. CPT is a dumb place to wash out. Sims are stressful to a point, but keep a good attitude and your instructors really will go out of their way to help you get whatever is missing to “click.” Obviously your mileage may vary, but you get out of the process what you put into it right? This was my first 121 Indoc and 2nd jet type, had no issues.

Oh, you mean start of ATP, not Sims... Got you. Strange, maybe because of the holidays?
