Wisco used the correct wording, however, I will add that ZW's ownership has been here before. They've always been tight lipped despite the doom and gloom rumor mill. In my opinion it helps their bottom line. They like being short on pilots as it keeps their benefit payouts low.
I think a passenger moving deal is in the works or they wouldn't have spent the money on adding the 700/900 to the certs and beffed up the training department.
Cargo is a smart move given the current supply chain issues Covid has brought forth. The issue I see here is growth of the pilot group to support it. The cost of retrofitting the current fleet to freighters will be cost effective once flying is secured.
I could also be way wrong and the carpet will be rolled up and the doors closed at the expiration of the current united contract.
