Especially if today's Go Home Day and you're commuting to the East Coast.

They may have to consider giving positive space to and from work or they’ll be canceling flights due to no crews making it in

Honesty ad integrity is what you do when no one is looking. Think about that.
Terrible advice. Just flew with a 27 year old FO at Delta. He got into the game “late.” Here’s his career—ALL ATPs—> Instructor —> Commutair for 9 months —> Spirit for 13 months —> Delta and United offers. Came to Delta.

Until you’re where you want to be, the rest is just a hustle. You owe no corporation anything because they trained you. Period

In another scenario I flew with a newish FO who spent 5 years at FDX and then came to DL. He felt obligated to FDX because they hired him and trained him. Unhappy and miserable the entire time. Had he come to DL in 2017-2018 he would be about 55-58% company wide on the list right now. Instead he just finished year one and is 14k deep on the list.

Get to where you want to be, have a good attitude, and enjoy the journey. You owe no regional airline any type of moral contract.

Crazy what a few years makes... Im a nov 22 hire and, while i already have 2000 behind me and at least another year of all-out hiring to go, Im 41 and the alpa app projects me retiring at 3,000ish. Still a good life but not the rocket ship a few years ago would have produced.

yup. Imagine thinking you owe a company anything. It’s a business transaction. If ZW could harm you in a similar way for profit they would in a heartbeat. The regionals exploited labor for years. This isn’t letting a friend down or showing loyalty to family. It’s simple business, and if that means getting a bunch of training and then punching out to a major before you make them a dime then that’s smart business.

ZW had a no furlough clause yet had no problem furloughing when they’d felt the need.
just a little perspective

Its kind of like the corporate aviation world, the good programs don’t need training contracts.

They are a stepping stone and know/rely on that to maximize the number of people on the lower end of the pay scale. I literally heard a CEO (not ZW) say as much when trying to get senior pilots to support a TA.
