Does anyone know if they still do a sim on the interview?

I don't think so. But you'll do plenty of sim in training, so you better know your stuff as far as IFR procedures. Getting hired is no longer a guarantee of making it to the line. Same with most other carriers. Washouts happen, unfortunately.

So even though there is no sim in the interview, there will be later, when it counts more.

Roger, it seems like more and more are dropping the interview sim. that leaves ASA, Eagle and CHQ who are still holding on to the interview sim. Do you guys think that the regional see more of a washout rate when they don't do an interview sim??

SKW still does as well...hmm if you can call that ATC810 and Frasca sims!

AWAC opening LGA and RDU is fantastic - more options for you guys...only downside I can see is less of a flow-through of bases during a trip?

So now I'm thinking AWAC would have been good for me - I would actually be able to move back in with the 'rents. Embarassing, yes, but super fiscally-responsible haha...

Living with the parents can really suck for the social life. But financially it can also make a lot of sense, especially on first-year pay.

I am cautiously optimistic about RDU and LGA. It will give more people more options and that is hardly bad. But in the vein of being careful what we wish for, I am also afraid of what this could do for schedules. I am suspicious we will end up with more 1-day trips, and that is never good.

But for those living close by those bases it will mean vastly improved QOL and that is great for those folks. Plus, it should mean I can hold a good line in DCA....

Also, the bar in RDU at the hotel will now suffer great financial hardship with no more AWAC crews!!

You won't know until you apply....so just apply. And emphasize that you would love to be based in LGA

Worst they can do is say...thanks but no thanks...then go get more time and do it again!

PSA also does the md80 PCATD which i know is not much of a sim but when the 200/700 is available (which will be no longer because of training), they would use that
