Wow, that BF never ceases to amaze with his great insight on operations at awac. Of course living in base increases your QOL and I'm sure everyone in class already knew this, seems kinda ridiculous for him to reiterate it. At any rate, congrats to the new hires on getting a class date and welcome to Air Wisconsin.

Work rules on RSV suck. Let's just say that. Five on, three off. And as often as not uncommutable on both ends of that. You will be best off either getting a good crashpad/room situation in your base or just moving to one of the bases. It makes a bad situation on RSV tolerable. Believe me on this one.

Moving to your domicile will make the job pretty decent. Commuting to RSV is miserable because you will be commuting on your off days as often as not.

Try 3 solid days off a month, man. It's all relative. three days off after 5 days on is heaven! ;o)

Good luck living in NYC, DCA, PHL, or ORF on the $800 you will get every two weeks. RDU might work if you have three roomates. Or you can commute to your uncommutable trips and give up your days off nonreving all over trying to make it to work. Go to EAGLE.

Anybody trying to survive in a major east-coast metro on $1600/mo has a pretty good idea "what it really is like out there"; the NYC-DCA corridor ain't exactly in the same cost of living bracket as ATW, DEN or ORD.

ORF??? Really??? get a clue dude?? Now I lived in the suburbs of Philly for 2.5 years and it cost me and my wife nearly 1000 bones for a nice one bedroom apartment. Norfolk is not very expensive, compared to that....Yeah our schedules suck, but if you can get a line in LGA, all lines are commutable(ZERO overnighters)....I;ve bee trying to get in there the last 8 months or so with 3.5 years of senority....RDU is very very affordable...but then again, the way the lines are constructed you need to live there.....early out, late finish..same as ORF!!!!!
