Lots of things have already been discussed earlier in the thread, so I won't go off on a long rant. I'll just say that if you have other options I would explore all of those first. The pay isn't all that bad for a regional, but the schedules are quite a different story.

Oh thanks. Not looking at Air Wisconsin as a career, just curious as how things are, such as morale

I had heard that at the end of the year the pilots agreement contract was up for changes, has anything come from that?

The contract expires next october, but negotiations can start the year prior. Nothing really has happened other than some "formalities".

Down the toilet to be point blank. A/C are broken left and right. It's not uncommon to have 10% of the fleet down for mx right now. The schedules are ridiculous.... 12 days off and 73 hours bolck. Really??? Multiple hour sits multiple days on trips. 5 am shows and get back at midnight. 13 hr plus scheduled days. Junior mans and "reroutes" do to lack of pilot coverage. AWAC's nickname by gate agents and some mainline employees is Air Wiscancellation. This is NOT the airline it used to be. Proud to be part of the pilot group, but I don't know whats happening to the airline as a whole anymore.

This is a pretty good summary of what's going on. Ask any gate agent in PHL or CLT and they will tell you the same thing....they would MUCH rather see a Mesa airplane at their gate than an AWAC bird. It's pretty sad to see what this place has become.

Won't the hiring they're doing alleviate a lot of those problems?

We will still be flying 70 beat-down hoopty's more cycles that they should without any replacements in sight.

We need enough pilots so that jr-mans only happen in rare emergencies, not daily.

We need commutable and more efficient schedules with fewer plane swaps and long sits at hubs.

We need a lot...

They needed to hire these people a LONG time ago. The hiring that they're in the process of doing is just trying to catch up to where things should have been. The problem is, attrition is finally starting to kick in with people leaving for other airlines. They have waited too long to start hiring. They're going to have a hard time making it back to a proper staffing level.
