If things are so bad then why not move on out, just an observation, but I just want to get a better feel, are things truly that bad there or is it just manageable?
Do you seriously need someone to explain that?

move on to where...???? guess you should stay a CFI if you have any doubts or YOU should go somewhere else; corporate, 135?

this question is pointless, go back and read 2 years worth of posts from APC, Jetcareers, *************, etc....

that will give you a good idea

cka,

You have to understand that the people on here represent a relatively small percentage of the total airline pilot group, and the pilot group at AW. That being said, the perception of an airline could be skewed in one way or the other. Also, this site is for the purpose of discussing (and moaning, complaining, b***hing, etc) about managment, contracts, schedules, etc. so most of the comments will be of a negative tone. To think that there is an airline (regional or not) that is "magic and forfills all the wants and needs" is pretty naive and will cause you to be very disappointed. In any job, in any industry, there will always be something that the employees don't like, its a fact of life. My suggestion to you is to gather all available information (you can even use the comments on here if you'd like) about the airline/s that you would like to go to, compare those to you ambitions and desires for your career, and make an intelligent decision about where you want to go. That's what I did, and so far, I'm pretty happy because I know I made the best decision for my life and I don't have any off-the-wall expectations.

Good luck!

That's also true, I know things won't be easy so by no means am I going to complain about any decision or any airline I end up with and complain, but was just putting it out there as a general statement so I wasn't trying to say its just bad and I'm going to give up and do something else. I wasn't implying anyone should just move on out, just a question about the statements I've been reading.

After reading so much negativity to a point its just ehhhh gotta wonder, not trying to attack anyone in the industry or anyone with the company, just asking!

I guess I came off harsh in my last comment based on that fact that, the whole purpose for sites like these are suppose to enlighten us about certain lifestyles.

you will find both extremes if you ask any pilot group (probably) ...ones that love it, ones that hate it and ones that are just doing it.

either way GL

A place is what you make it...a few choose to live in negative town while others either deal with it or make the best of the situation. The big thing is to not let the debbie downers ruin it for you.

About two months for our class, none of us are even done with sim yet. Upgrade at this time would have to be 4-5 years, there's been zero movement and furloughs for the past few years.

The term "Upgrade Time" is always variable. It just means that, at this moment, the junior captain has 'x' years of seniority/longevity.

As was said, there's been almost zero movement for the past 4 years or so. Eventually upgrade time is likely to fall, but for now the junior captain at AWAC has probably been here nearly 5 1/2 - 6 years.
