ORF, PHL, DCA, RDU, LGA in that order. I would bet you can hold PHL by the end of training and DCA within maybe six months. I don't have a mustache nor do I know anything about what else goes on in RDU and I haven't looked at their list, so I can't tell you much about that place. Unless you live in one of these areas, I would seriously consider going to a different regional. If we stay a 71 a/c company flying solely for US Air, I doubt anyone hired now will ever upgrade at this company.

Do they give you your base at the beginning of training or at the end?

They walk you through the filling in of the permanent bid sheet either the second or third day of training if I remember correctly and you will know where you are based before you finish systems training and probably before you get done with indoc. It's possible your status can change more than once before you even get out on OE depending on the movement.

My opinion is that if you are going to commute, then DCA would be the best place to be on reserve at. There are crashpads within walking distance to national and lots of stuff to do on your down time that still keeps you within 2 hours of the airport.

I pay 200/month for one in S. PHL. They range anywhere from 200-300. I started training at the beginning of Jan and completed IOE at the end of March. Things got backed up a little so we had a few weeks off between systems and sim. Worked fine for me cuz I got watch the Packers win the super bowl .

absolutely...unless you just need some jet/glass time to get to another job opportunity you have, it just doesnt make any sense at all...if you think that you will rise through the ranks and upgrade here within the time left before the contract expires, you are crazy. that is not to say they will just close the doors when the clock hits all zeroes in 2015...but if you know what has happened at comair in the last 10 years, i think that is a pretty good model for what will happen here. having said all that, if you still cant find something better, please do come so i can finally upgrade. it has turned into eagle for a lot of us...5 years, 4 mths and counting

What base does Air Wisconsin do their IOE out of?

You'll do IOE out of your domicile. They will match you with a check airman that is available... doesn't matter where they are based. If you start a trip in a different domicile than yours, they will deadhead you to where you need to be.

Now what about the LGA/DCA slot trade with Delta. Seems like there is going to be a lot less flying in LGA, aka next to nothing. So I would assume LGA would be closing soon.
