Not many people without solid connections have been hired.

Just getting your ATP will not suddenly make the majority of SJS F/Os wildly marketable, especially if they don't know the difference between 'there' and 'their' and 'F/O's' and 'F/Os' and 'Slangin' and *** that means out there.
I agree 100% but people still line up for great lakes thinking 1000 TPIC is their golden ticket. No one is going anywhere unless you are an exceptional candidate or connected.

I agree to a certain extent. With this upcoming "pilot shortage" Southwest, Delta, FedEx, UPS and the like probaly won't see the slightest decline whatsoever in resumes. It's the second tier non-regionals/cargo, Spirit, Southern Air, Allegiant, etc...those could hurt finding qualified applicants.

Can anyone tell me which base new hires are likely to do their IOE?
Also, where is the best place to go for a medical in Norfolk?
Thanks

No guarentees but you'll more than likely do your IOE out of wherever youre permanently based.

Applied last May, they called and left voicemail I called and left two voicemails no response. Now my app is being reviewed for several months. They are using an email system which notified me of status. I believe they have stopped hiring since early summer.

Thanks guys, I have heard this before, but how do you find out if you app is being reviewed? I have tried looking various times over the last almost year I have had airlineapps.

I am not surprised they are not hiring. They had their mins lowered and were even showing up on career fair and still not calling anyone for interviews. Then they hired a number of people and I haven't heard much for a while. Good luck to all!!
