Yep. I had my open time pick up dropped with pay. Thanks LCA!! I was trying to pick up another 4 day, getting greedy and looking for 300% pay. Nothing available in ORF though, dammit.

 

Enjoy my friend! Your Off With Pay, barring the LCA being sick or the new FO. It has happened to me 7 times in 2.5 years. No clue how I got that lucky. The best part is you can pick up a trip and get paid time and a half for it! (Plus your original trip). It's beautiful.

I am crediting 135 hrs for Feb due to one OWP trip which I picked up a 4 day, then I picked up a 3 day later on in the month.

It is an awesome thing to have happen. As for hiding the lines in FLICA, they dont. You have to look on the paper bid packet, but just below the RSV lines, you will see Lines Reserved for IOE: and it list them. Then you can find the line that has the most OE trips or at least one and hopefully you get lucky.

Just because they are reserved for OE doesn't mean it will happen. Given the fact we have hardly ANY newhires coming through it probably won't happen as much.

 

Damn!!! I would have commuted outside of ORF for that chance lol. Wow. Nice

 

Remember, any trips being used for OE that aren't pulled in the bid packet will mean the FO gets OWP, regardless of if it's a new hire or an upgrade getting OE.

I also had good luck getting trips bought for OE when I was an FO. Once you upgrade, that little perk goes away...

Maybe with your time off you can go to CLT and upgrade. Just got my second junior man in two weeks. This place is slowly crumbling. Gonna be a fun summer.

every new hire in the class of like 10 or so got orf for reserves, maybe i can finally drop a trip now without getting denied for lack of reserve coverage. but im sure 9/10 of them will be in dca or phl next vacancy period.
