That being said, I'm no finance or business whiz, nor do I understand the finer points of contract negotiations, but why would UAL or anyone care if we have a new CBA? We have a contract that is being used, what an airline decides to pay AWAC and what AWAC and the pilots agree on are two separate things. UAL or whoever couldn't give a rat's bum how much profit AWAC makes, as long as the flights are completed.
Furthermore, DAL and AWAC were close to a deal while AWAC was still in contract negotiations.
That being said, if I'm wrong somebody please correct me.
You are correct. It's the CPA's that need to be negotiated with their mainline partners. AW needs to be careful tthat there's enough room to make the necessary changes to the CBA to get them competitive again in the regional sector. Being that's an unknown it might make them less aggressive to go after new flying. Additionally the mainline partners like it when their regional partners can finance the planes themselves. It keeps them off their books. I would think AW is in a good position financially (just guess as there's no sec filing) to be very aggressive to obtain new flying. The fact that it's not happening is very puzzling

Well, if you believe MP it is happening. I'm not holding my breath however, I have one interview scheduled and hoping for another.

He did tell my ground school (or did he imply?) that AWAC is having to push for a much better deal with mainline partners so they can afford to offer better pay and keep the profit margins where they currently are.

Time will tell.

They can't have both... Either better pay or profit margins... We shall see how negotiations go... Which are underway now through tomorrow in PHX.

They can have both if they get more from mainline. Pilot pay has to come up- is coming up- so they want mainline to beat the brunt of some of that of course.

The big question is why would a mainline partner pay so much right now when they have other carriers with newer fleets filling classes and growing?

Mp, god bless him, doesn't have anymore of a clue regarding AWACs future than does any line pilot.

I come on this board once a month and all you ever do is say the same stupid garbage over and over. Of course your pretend to care about AWAC guys but you are really just here to somehow make yourself feel better about some perceived injustice done to you in the past by AWAC. Maybe some Whiskey guy didn't nod at you loud enough in CLT as you walked by or are you are jealous of the awesome hats we have to wear?

GO AWAY!

Nice it's so easy to get a rise out of you. It's an aviation board. Don't like reading my stuff? Ignore list bubba. It's simple.

It's not about disliking what you write, it's that its the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Not a single person cares what you have to say. Literally everyone on property knows AWAC is most likely closing down. Why keep telling us that? I don't understand what type of individual would attain satisfaction from repeatedly reminding people of their demise. Why don't you with all your days off head on down to st. Jude and remind all the kids down there they have cancer. Head down there once a week and remind them once a week they have inoperable cancer. I don't understand your purpose. What are you hoping to accomplish by constantly reminding people what they already know? Seriously, answer that question. What are you trying to accomplish? You're not funny. You're not informative. You're not maddening. You're not even irritating. At this point, you're just bizarre
