I hear United, Alaska, Hawaiian (and Hawaiian + Alaska) almost daily. I really do hope we merge. I think the additional marker share will increase our career stability and be better in the long term.

In the short term, like any good airline merger, we will all have to hate each other and exclaim how unfair it is, how bad the other guys are, and how we all should be senior to everyone else.

Don't forget, "it's an acquisition not a merger..."

Why would anyone bother buying/merging with anyone now? The market is in the new highs. Southwest is the only one I could see making a play for someone for obvious reasons, but that’s about it. Anything else is wishful thinking.

Well... there are rumblings on the financial side of things about a $7B transaction. I can only think of a few things with that kind of market cap and JB is one of them.

JB is more 5.5B. 7B sounds more like a 30~ aircraft order...

30? Maybe if they are ordering the 787. That should get you at least 70 narrowbodies.

Or add in HA with a market cap of 1.5B. Maybe they want both lol

Let me guess, “I heard at the training center...”

JetBlue and Hawaiian?? I don't know, that's a lot of Airbusses to park.

Typically a premium is paid to buy out a public company.
Alaska paid a billion over VA market cap.
