i would happily leave your seniority list. unfortunately my kids enjoy eating, they are greedy like that. I am hoping to start back over as an FO somewhere else, not jet blue, less responsibility and probably equal pay after a year. Say it with me, Alaska is a stepping stone.

BiloxiJack, to bad your post from a couple of weeks ago was deleted. The one you calling ALL Alaska pilots dilusional F$&*#)@. Way to set the tone flamer! Anyway I can only speak for myself in saying that I don’t want any of you on our seniority list. But it is what it is! I’m gonna “sack up” and extend a hand and make the best of it with our new adopted flight crew members. Maybe we can change some things in the future with our asswipe AirGroup parents.
You should take your angry ass and “sack up” and polish your resume skills and move on to maybe JetBlue perhaps........bye BiloxiJack!

A stepping stone for you. If your young enough to start over as you say, then more power to you. My age/seat and nearly 2 decades at this “JOB” pretty much got me rooted. At least your honest and best of luck!

And good luck to you as well. Well, good luck to us I guess...the phone isn't exactly ringing off the hook. Just frustrated, I apologize for my idiotic venting.

I see this merger/acquisition/SLI is turning into another AirTran/SWA fiasco. Sad....

Many are frustrated. Thanks for making an apology.

I look forward to participating in discussions that produce tangible QOL improvements and unify the pilot group going into 2020. I don't doubt it will be an uphill battle and we're all going to need to keep our emotions in check. Welcome and trust me, you have pilots of like mind on your side.

I hate to say it but BiloxiJack is a bit right in calling this place a stepping stone. Management needs to see the younger crowd getting some experience then bailing for a better if not greener pasture. After the Kasherstration in 2005 I should have made my move. I heard a great quote that said to the effect that being a pilot for AK AIR is like working for a family run part 135 air taxi. It is...... Like a few other older pilots here at the company say, it’s just a job. Always watch your back on the bosses...fly your trip, take everything you can, otherwise they will. Then go home and have a life. Sad that I now view my career as just a paycheck. But that’s ok as long as I can score as much time off and then money. Gas, Grass or A$$ nothing is free.

Not to mention it made me make my first post on the damn website after years of lurking. Cheers!

Your assuming this basically from what you read on this or other forums? Or do you work for Alaska/VA?
I dont know about others but I get a very warm welcome and seemingly genuine “welcome aboard” from almost every Alaska pilot I have run across.
Dont base assumptions on what you read here. Im sure that the SLI will cause some issues later this year but from my interactions it is far from a fiasco.
Either that or its a “welcome aboard” to my face and a “$&@k you” when I turn my back.
How the business side of the merger is being run is another story.. One could call that a fiasco in the making!
None of the pilots on either side asked for this and really have no control over what happens until 2020. No more arbitration and dont give an inch!

We'll cave like we always do just as we did with the lanyards. I don't know pilot expectations are for scope 2020 but it won't come free. Management will hang a few more dollar bills and far too many will see $$$ in their eyes and accept the higher raise. This is especially true for the Mchordites and the legacy brats. I hear the Virgin guys are different but time will tell what their own personal motives end up being. A lot of those guys had to start over from 0 when their previous airlines tanked and too many guys get greedy as they approach retirement. I hope I'm wrong but I've been at the Eskimo far too long know better.

Bugaboo,

Whackmaster is a former AirTran pilot who now works for SWA. He's infamous in the combined community concerning his observations of the AT/SWA seniority list integration.

Note: I am not very famous for being one of the very many who like to get his goat--which is easily had.
