Truth. BT said they had to borrow 2bil to make the VX purchase. The CFO said they're getting back to a 50/50 debt/equity ratio. This company has never been more leveraged, if I'm not mistaken.

Good thing you got it and not JB! Had that happened Alaska would really be in a pickle. No amount of PNW loyalty would be able to drag you out of that one.
Alaska did what they had to do to stay alive. Don't kid yourself, Alaska could never have grown that way organically on the West Coast. They HAD to buy Virgin America no matter the cost. Blame your management for not having the vision years ago.
And yes....the Virgin America pilot group is going to be the catalyst for change at Alaska. That and new hires, and the great job your upper management is doing at distancing themselves from the rank and file on a daily basis.
Hopefully Alaska is around long enough to wear those pathetic new uniforms.
