Anyway, yes I do. There’s plenty of shady attempts on FAs from our ranks I’m sure. No, I can’t possibly begin to know what a good-looking FA goes through during the course of a trip. The persistent swinging d!ck$ probably get old.

Anyway........from having talked to a friend who’s friends with the Cptn in question, there’s A LOT more to this story and from having heard his side of it second-hand it infuriates me to read some of our peers crucifying him.

No, I’m not going to elaborate on the story out of respect for my friend. Everyone just needs to take a chill pill. Hopefully, the truth comes out but we might have to accept the fact that it never will given that Alaska will probably just pay for this problem to go away and make them both sign NDAs.

Every single one of us knows “that guy”.
The inappropriate remarks and behavior. The awkward flirting with hotel, FBO/Airport staff or fellow airline staff. Never been at breakfast and some random pilot guy is unrelentingly hitting on a server? You’ve never been witness to that type of behavior?
Or are you a good ol’ Boy and whatever happens on the road stays on the road.
We all know the guys who rate female pilots below god forbid....immigrants. Wimmin’s just out for your job they don’t deserve.
It’s kinda sad if the only way you can get a woman is by drugging them.

Yes, we all know "that" guy, but to say that "that" guy is pervasive in our industry is a gross exaggeration. We know "that" guy because his behavior stands out as so inappropriate and awkward to the overwhelming majority of us.

Insensitive is not the same as misogynist, and misogynist is the the same as rapist. I think very, very few people are premeditated rapists/repdators, and those tend to account for multiple crimes each.

Those are quit different from the drunk student scenario where consent is questionable due to alcohol impairment.

 

I'm sure every single poster who feels like this woman is a no-good opportunist looking for a payday would have no problem volunteering their own daughters, wives, or girlfriends for a night on the town with the captain in question. After all, it's just a big lawyer-concocted lie, right?

I appreciate the guys here who see the bigger issue. No, not many guys are rapists, maybe not even misogynists...but waay too many are insensitive clods. They think NOTHING of not caring if you overhear them talking about who they want to bang and describing which FAs they'd like to combine to make the "ideal female." Oh yeah, all young women more than half his age. Tasteless and disgusting.

 

Well just like every single poster who feels this Captain should be convicted as a rapist based on what this lady and her attorneys have said alone would have no problem volunteering their sons to give up their due process rights and be convicted on what one person says without any investigation or the ability to have their side of the story heard as well.

Your blaming the accused without giving them their due process rights to be heard, nor even hearing the results of the investigation by Alaska or the authorities is revolting. In this country we have something called the presumption of innocence until PROVEN guilty. She hasn't even sued him or demanded the authorities in Minneapolis arrest him for rape.

But we know women never lie, distort, or try to extort men in situations like this right? Go hang out around a Family Court for an afternoon and you'll find out different.

Until you hear the Captain's side of it, see what Alaska found out in their investigation, or there is a criminal investigation launched it is impossible to say what really happened here. She could be telling the truth, she may not be. However it is very curious that she has filed no criminal complaint, given the fact that she feels she was sexually assaulted and drugged. The only problem with that, is if it is found she filed a false complaint she would be in legal jeopardy for filing a false report. Also curious that her suit targets only Alaska, and not the man who she claims drugged and raped her.

Unfortunately we will probably never know, as Alaska will probably pay everyone off, have them sign NDAs, and bury the whole thing to make it go away, unless the authorities get involved somehow.

 

Why even mention it when you’re not going to elaborate? Just eluding there is “more”.
