Apparently from their "meeting" with mgmt last Friday, they're stuck on asking to be paid number 5.
1. We have industry leading profit margins
2. We have industry leading pilot productivity
3. We have industry leading customer service awards
And these MEC jokers want us to be number 5. We can be industry leading in pay AND get scope. Screw their "we can't swing for the fences" excuse. Recall them now and get someone with some balls in there for 2020.

Good gravy, I've seen a thousand guys act like this. They read something they don't like or a rep tells them something they don't like and the next thing you know - "Release the hounds!"
How about this - why don't you go and do something about it? You. Go. Get elected. Get in there with your balls and fix it. Ohhh... yah, that's right, you ain't got no time for such things! It's so much more effective to just beat your chest.
Let me tell you something cupcake, from a guy who has actually been there and done that. It ain't that easy. If ALPA could just walk in there and get everything we want, they would. But, the enemy does indeed get a vote. I suggest that you learn what holding an elected position in ALPA actually means. I suggest that you walk a mile in those shoes before you tell everyone how much better you could do it. Maybe you can do it better! If so, then I welcome it. If you just want to vent your B & B frustrations on an ALPA rep - I would prefer that you don't do it around me.

On the other hand... the Delta pilots got sick of their reps telling (selling)them "This is as good as it gets", soundly voted down a contract billed as such (for the first time in their history), replaced some key ALPA folks (who may have honestly believed that the rejected contract was as good as it gets), and then got a much better contract. Rejecting the contract and replacing the reps that hard sold it to the group gave the pilots incredible leverage in that negotiation. I don't know what our reps are really up to, but of they aren't of the mindset that we can achieve compensation and quality of life that is in line with the best of our peers, they should get out of the way for some fresh blood. The pilot group will have to facilitate that change.

This meeting with management comes from the Arbitrators ruling that directed the company to go back to the table on Scope and Slope. We aren’t in Section 6. Obviously I’d like to see everything get fixed but the play ALPA is using is to get the company to negotiate the 2 items that the Arbitrator directed.
