Congrats at your new gig. And seriously, thank you for your service, but there’s a decent number of folks on the VX side who lost their “retirement” gig and needed a J.O.B. They paid their dues. They did volunteer work. They’ve walked the line. To insinuate that all the people from Virgin were “scab-like” is laughable. “Scab-like” is a term best used for MEC leadership that negotiates a sweetheart management deal while selling their constituents down the river which, as I understand it isn’t a foreign concept at Alaska.
A LOT of our VX brethren know what it takes to FIGHT for an appropriate contract. I’m ready to lock arms with my VX brethren ANY day. |

Most of my fighter buds let their work speak for themselves and are humble to a fault. Please take an honest look at you last posts and see how you have come off to everyone..
One can be straight forward and not sugar coat their opinions without the vitriol, arrogance and condescension you have historically displayed throughout your posts. Between one's military training and natural personality, one develops a tool box to negotiate through the various personal and professional issues that has to be dealt with. Knowing which tool and when to use it and to what degree is a very desirable trait. |

What’s with the standard VX drivel that “this isn’t our first rodeo”? Why do you guys expect any credit for having a job before VX hired you? File that under, “no Schit”. We all had other jobs, mostly ALPA carriers. Nobody cares where you used to work and has no bearing on today. We all know what VX was and what it wasn’t. VX was ALWAYS going to end one of two ways and YES, looking at the VX Disasterous balance sheet, you guys got lucky as hell it ended the way it did. CH 7 BK would have left a mark. You ALL dodged a bullet when Tilden showed up with the bail out cash. Every single OG Alaska pilot understands this...I expect that if most VX’ers are honest with themselves, they see it that way as well.
Because based on the early posts, the standard drivel from some of you guys is that you think that over at VX we were all wide-eyed 20 somethings who got this awesome opportunity to fly a big jet a lot earlier than we should have in our career and so we were clueless about the airline industry and its history and you guys were here to save us and educate us along the way....lol... We have merely been correcting that assertion. As far as dodging a bullet... Many of us actually think you guys pushed us in the way of the bullet. JB and others were more than willing to 'save' us. You all showed up and spoiled the party in an attempt to save yourselves. By the way... Maybe VX was never meant to be a long-term and ongoing concern but rather a strategic play by investors to start it, increase its value and making it attractive enough for other airlines to get into a bidding war for its acquisition and exit with a pile of cash. I'd say they played it brilliantly.. Business in America these days is not about longevity or the welfare of employees, it's about building value for shareholders. Food for thought... |

They dodged a bullet? You mean the one where JetBlue buys them and they end up with a better CBA, that includes scope, then they’re probably ever going to see at AK?
That's very funny.... |

Biz, this rhetoric is why many AS pilots think the VX pilots had no real career expectations while at VX. That the pilots simply went there as either a place holder until other airlines started hiring again or hoped it would be bought by another airline. The belief is most of the pilots knew VX was not a long term game plan. This has been a source of much contention. |
