I’m fairly sure there is already an Alaska Festivus thread.

As well as a thread to pick on OTZEagle - deservedly so....

But let’s try and keep this on topic, shall we?

The hallways of this “legacy” airline are darker than the hallways of your regional, I can guarantee you that. Heed the warnings on these threads and make smarter choices than we all did. I’d be willing to bet delta united and American don’t have first officers leaving in droves like we do here.

Well....that still leaves more room for those of us still looking to join, LOL.
It was mostly 'tongue in cheek', the 'dark hallways' thing.

I'm at a regional that is portrayed on this forum as the lowest of the low...and yet, I have met a lot of really cool people here. They seem to genuinely want us all to succeed, and openly admit that most of us will likely move on after a year or two.
Surprise. Who knew?

If you dislike AS so much, why don't you leave?

left seat to right seat at the bottom of new list is a hard pill to swallow but the worse things get around here the more I am considering it.

I sincerely wish you luck with whatever you chose to do. If you do come here, please do not drink the koolaid or let people convince you this is the best we can get. Stand with us and fight for what we deserve.

No you can't. I'd much rather be at the bottom of AS's list then the top of any regional.

Heed the warnings on these threads? No pilot should be making career decisions based on APC posts. These threads have gotten really negative ever since the March 2nd JCTE cutover. And what smarter choice than we did? We worked for VX and then acquired by AS. We had no choice in that matter, the name on the paycheck does not match the company that we signed up with. But such is life and the best we can do is try to make it better for us going forward for C2020.

For good reason, no? I'd say the negativity on this forum is pretty well justified.

At some point it just sounds like the three angry men. If you can’t change it right now, why stay angry/mad? We can’t control it, but we can make an effort for C2020.

Sorry. I was just calling out the over abundance of negativity that is getting to be a bit much.

Back to the hiring info...........................

Rumors are a new bid opening soon to be effective in the Fall, and newhire classes again for the late summer/fall timeframe.

You obviously never worked for a regional airline if you believe this. I worked under arguably the best contract in the regionals. Frustratingly many of my regional's work rules are better than Alaska's. But on the balance my quality of life is much better at Alaska.

Here's to victory in contact 2020 (or 2026... whenever it's done). A bit of hope: United, Delta, and Southwest are beginning their contact cycles... dragging out things by our management will only increase our leverage assuming that those carriers make gains.
