Default Hiring Hope for the Dark Regional Hallways?

Since the 'other' hiring thread is over 4000 replies long....
And, now onto a Red Tails vs Blue Tails vibe....
Could we get back to anything about any actual hiring news?

Last I heard was: 140 new hires this year, and interviews starting in June.
I haven't heard if classes are still currently running.

Any New Hope for those of us living in the Dark World of bottom feeders?

Generally AS doesn’t hire or run classes during the summers.

I’d expect to see the application window open next fall/early summer. I think about 40 went though class last fall.

Apparently 2500 applied during the last window.

Ways to stand out:

- talk to a recruiter at a job fair
- get a letter of rec from a pilot at AS
- try and get a CP meet and greet
- upgrade so you are getting PIC

Thanks NG. ....summer too busy?
2500!? Wow. Well, it's good to hear that the AS magic is still strong.

I'm working on all of those....just getting the last one checked now.

If its anything like the past they run so lean on pilots they have send the IPs out to fly the line during the summer. No one available to do the training.

If you feel you are at a bottom feeder now, coming to Alaska would likely improve your pay and retirement, but most all quality of life provisions would likely be less desirable here than your current regional. Don’t think your life will be comparable to someone at Delta, AA, United, etc.

Maybe keep this thread on topic? There is plenty of information out there for those who wish to find it.

If you’ve done all the things NG stated you’re on the right track. AS likes to see applicants at their “local” events.

-NW Aviation Conference, (just happened in Feb.).
-Volunteer at Aviation Day, happens in Seattle and Portland in spring.
-The Great Alaska Aviation Conference in May.
-AS has a booth at Oshkosh which they like to see pilots at.

They prefer to see guys/gals at these events rather than WIA, OBPA or GPA. Not that going to these will hurt you, you’ll just make a bigger impression on them at the local stuff.

Thanks KK.
Went to NW in Puyallup.
I'm looking at that V@AD in the Seattle area...but, seriously? - the same day as the GAAC in ANC??
Was planning on the GAAC at the FedEx hanger in ANC...assuming I can finagle the day off. (Usually 2 days....this might work.)
See what I can do about OSH.

That pretty much matches what the BCP in ANC told me as well.

Thanks for the tips.

Nice username!

Was only half-serious about the current feeder level.
But, I'm at one of those that some on these pages have vilified pretty badly.

A handful of friends of mine are pretty happy at AS.
Hoping to join them sometime soon.

Have a Washington or Oregon address. If you don’t have that try a California one. If none of these apply sorry about your luck.
