Default Missoula commuters

Do any of you esteemed Alaska folks
Commute to SEA or PDX from Missoula, MT? Iím trying to assess the feasibility/miserable factor of this seemingly painless one-leg commute. Thanks in advance.

I met a captain who does it. He delayed upgrade significantly so he could hold a good enough schedule to do so. Youíll be on Horizon or maybe Skywest to get in so no priority on a seat.

Also our schedules are not commuter friendly. Its definitely possible but my advice in general for AS is: if you come to Alaska pick which one of the most expensive places to live on the West Coast and stick with it.

I know it isnít ďrightĒ but trying to do something different will have a big QOL impact.

I'm with UAL and I commute out of FCA and MOU part time. I have bought tickets and missed trips because the commute can be BRUTAL. You have to watch loads and flights constantly. MOU is a little better but not much.

I'll add that FCA in the summer it is because of Glacier and in the winter because of skiing. FCA is definitely easier in the winter except if the WX goes south and the reduction of flights. MOU has the school so it can be difficult with loads during game weekends and general kids and parents traveling.

Thanks to you all for the information. As much as Iíd love to move home, it sounds as though the difficulties of even a relatively short one-leg commute would crush the QOL to which Iíve become accustomed. Again, I appreciate your assistance!
