What process are you talking about? ZED tickets and buddy pass holders? Sure. But if a pilot listed for a jumpseat, got processed through JACS to prove they are CASS, and in the end get a cabin seat with a boarding pass, ALPA jumpseat guide says still a good idea to check in with the CA and "ask" for a ride. With that said,
"NOTE: Flight Deck jumpseat riders who have been given a cabin seat assignment need not check in with the Captain. This policy reduces Flight Deck distractions and congestion."
Just because they don't need to check in doesn't mean you no longer have authority over their access as a CA. The policy is to reduce distractions and congestion, but you as CA can refuse someone who used flight deck jumpseat procedures to list for the flight (even if cleared in the back cabin).
