Just because they don't need to check in doesn't mean you no longer have authority over their access as a CA. The policy is to reduce distractions and congestion, but you as CA can refuse someone who used flight deck jumpseat procedures to list for the flight (even if cleared in the back cabin).
You would be wrong about that. The CSA policy manual is very clear on the subject. They are to ask the captain if he is taking flight deck jumpseaters. 1W and 2W are under the control of the captain. The remainder of the aircraft is under the control of the Control Agent. There are many ways that CSA “ons” a passenger. CASS is one of them.
Alaska Airlines is unique in this area...No one else handles it this way. Nuff said
