Except in this case, you (AS management) DIDN'T, and now you're (AS management is) crying about your (AS management's) lack of setting a policy and an employee being within the confines, just to your own (AS management's) personal dissatisfaction.

You're (AS management) is upset with your (AS management's) OWN failures in how to manage a situation and not properly lead your (AS) employees.

Can there be a Delta Day here at AS where they teach us how to be effective at being treated like professionals?

I’ll have to check but I believe it was get it on your own time, and remember the no fly for 48 hrs so plan accordingly kinda thing.

I don’t know. One poster above said he couldn’t understand why for the love of god anyone would get this on their own time. I really don’t want to get political. My answer is simple. I fly twice a year to see my family and the inlaws. Some of those with multiple pre-existing conditions that would be worse with Covid. So I got it to protect them and to protect my own wife and kid. My job also makes me travel and increases my risk for catching Covid.

Too much of this has been made political, and that’s all I have to say about that.

Sorry, I am unaware/ignorant. Did AS make pilots get it like at my shop?

I was under the impression that Delta was the only major pax carrier that did not do the vaccine mandate. Did that change?

AS is like most airlines, the vax mandate for companies with more than a 100 employees. Get the vax or apply for one of two waivers (religious or medical).

This is an amazing thread. It really seems like a bunch of regional chief pilots are frequent posters on APC. No dog in this specific fight but having received the booster recently myself they're not exactly available every single day in every single location. You sometimes have to get one when you can get one and fit it in with everything else. Turning your life upside-down to schedule it so it unquestionably ensures zero impact on one's employer doesn't have to be number one in the calculus.

If I were an employer I’d be very disappointed in you.

"professional", as in the way you called out two pilots by name on our Alyeska board and then tried to change your name so as to remain anonymous, or a different kind of professional??? I think you and I have different definitions of "professional".

To be fair, I think he acknowledged that might not have been the best thing to do and apologized for it.
