And I never said I wouldn’t recognize a preferred pronoun, because I wouldn’t be rude - again, there are rules to polite society (something the left can’t seem to understand). But the coerced use of language by threat is a dangerous precedent and carve-out to the idea of freedom.

I just don't get what the point is of having a he, she, or a they/them pin. Suppose one wears a "they/them" pin. What do you want me to do? Can't I just call you by your first name in JetPack? That's what I always do.

And what's proper English now? They or Them can now refer to one individual. So say we're waiting in the van for this individual. Would you say "Is they coming?" or would you say "Are they coming?" Asking because I'm legit curious, I just don't know. I would default to my usual "Is [person's first name] coming?" because that is the most neutral / safe option these days.


Here's another thing I don't understand. Why state what is already obvious? By this, I mean I have seen a female name sign an email with "she/her/hers." Ok, but wasn't that obvious? If it was Jane Doe then the she/her/hers is pointless info added. Now, if this was John Doe, and I see a "she/her/hers" then this is a nice heads up that this individual obviously is female, or at least, prefers female pronouns. And then you could act accordingly and call them what they prefer. But what point is it to put a pronoun at the end of your name when it already matches your name? Eg, I'm a male, I think my name is clear enough as a male, there is no point for me to put "he/his/him" in my signature.

I've never cared about the marriage issue, it doesn't affect me or anyone else. Getting fired for accidentally calling someone the wrong pronoun would though. Intent doesn't matter, only how offended the victim feels.

I don't even have a problem with calling someone by their preferred pronoun, I'm probably one of the nicest guys you could ever fly with. The problem I have, like others, is compelled speech.
