We sign and then this happens:

During the month[October], the following changes were made to the order book:
  • Alaska Air cancelled orders for 5 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.”

I bet you $50 that ‘seekingalpha’ has it wrong!

Akasa Airlines, an Indian carrier, canceled 5 Max’s… good, quality reporting is hard to come by these days. No surprise in today’s woke world…

We didn’t cancel any orders 🙄

We will take every Max and option… If things were to get bad, we would retire old NG’s. Let’s stay on the sunny side though

There’s a yearly post here with this information. Once 2022 is over.

Yes and most of them are full of 💩💩💩. A copy of the last paycheck, a 737 CA at Delta, and yes I will provide the exact same thing.

The guys over there will post, I made 500k and worked 240 hours all year🙄. I am actually going to hit a 520-550 number but I am working my butt off. It’s one or the other. You make 290k and never work or you make 500k and hustle. No one is doing both! They will tell you they are or their friend is or a friend of a guy they know is… That’s fine, it’s just not true!

Guess it depends on what your definition of “worked” is, when you say you made 500k to work 240 hours. And you sound ridiculous saying we should compare your incredibly unrealistic (for an average line pilot) W-2, to some random Captain at Delta. Take a look at the bigger picture here and quite thinking you are the rule instead of the exception… us other Captains at Alaska aren’t down here slogging at wages below our peers because we “don’t know how to work the system”. It is because we’re a 3000 pilot regional trying to compare ourselves to world wide billion dollar companies.

A line pilot cannot make $500k at $266.29/hr. That’s 1,000 hours of seat time plus 877 hours of soft time. We just don’t have that much soft time, 1.5 trips, seat subs, etc. for one pilot to grab. $500k is possible as an instructor/check airman/management pilot and even then, you have to be humping. Another way is by picking up premium trips; life behind a computer screen or being glued to a cell phone is not living. No thanks! I choose life. BTW, thank you for helping out the company during these difficult times and NMB mediated negotiations. I can only imagine the douche who’s touting his/her/“they” earnings on a public forum but fortunately he/her/they is on my ignore list.

Nope. You missed my point. See, I have done this before. No one is searching for a Delta commuter that works 690 hard, punching in at 82 hours a month, bringing in 280k a year… guess what, they are out there. No, right now someone is looking for a hustler with an override. A guy knocking down at least 40k a month, average. Then everyone on here will say, “ see that’s what every Delta pilot makes, and Otz only make it at Alaska because he is a sellout.” If you compared the average Delta and Alaska pilot in like equipment for 2022, you would see they make almost the same. The delta guy a little better hourly, the Alaska guy got a 17k bonus. They both made 280-295k. That’s the truth!
