There are going to be a lot of displacements from LAX, so I’d expect a while to based there if you are a new hire and a very long time to even think about upgrading there. Expect the junior upgrade following this displacement bid to be pushing the 7 year mark.

Thank you for the feedback and sorry to hear so many are being negatively impacted.

It’s the Alaskan way.

It is going to take a year or more to shake out the impact of dumping a fleet in one day. Lots of bump and flush is going to happen with the next bid that will be effective on Oct 1st. Alaska Airlines typically does not manage large operations well. Dumping the remaining Airbus fleet fits in that category. The Airbus pilot group as a whole is fairly senior. All the captains and a good number of the FO’s will hold a Boeing captain spot on this next bid….

Hi all, been 6 months since the last post on this topic. With all that’s happened with the Airbus, how are things currently out of LAX? For new hires, how long to hold the base and what’s the approx timeline for CA upgrade? Thanks!

we will tell you when the bid that is happening now closes. Whenever that may be.
