Chief pilot(not a very reliable source) says late fall. Others higher up seem to think maybe early 2024. Portland has never and will never be a junior base. Stagnant is the best description since it opened.

That's not happening... there aren't many places where cheap arse pilots can drive to work, pay no income tax, and also drive across the state line to shop in state with no sales tax

Thanks! Guess I’ll bide my time at the fractionals and keep fingers and toes crossed. Alaska is the only 121 career option with a PDX base so it is what it is.

Get hired, commute for six months to a year, and settle into PDX. Unless of course, there are circumstances that absolutely disallow that…understand the 121 world is a different animal.

Well...unless you are a Junior SFO CA and want to fly in PDX all summer long.........then it's totally going to happen for you, no matter how many people senior to you out of base want to fly in PDX all Summer.
