Just curious, does DAL and/or the other peers include the previous year's PS payout when calculating the current PS amount? In this example, will PS money paid out in 2021 be included in the aggregate amount that the 2022 income will be based on?
Thanks in advance,
S

So United is giving a a PS about 1.6%? How about AA? Delta?
Not one word of positivity from the 18%? You bet if AS announced 1.6% and United was 10.5%, there would be 10 pages now about how Alaska sucks. It’s okay to admit that some years, Alaska comes out ahead. In the good years, Delta got 16% while AS was about 5-10%. But 2020 everyone got 0 while AS paid out 4.98%. 2021 I think was about 6.5% while again most places were 0. 2022, AS is 10.5%. What’s everyone else getting? Not saying AS is perfect, just that legit good moments seem to be ignored on APC.

Nailed it. Let's hope they're just self reflecting on their own realities(doubtful). Enjoy the industry leading pay and profit sharing! I am.

The best way to look at it is Deferred Compensation. Alaska holds back 6-8% of our compensation all year and the gives it to us in Feb…if the year was good. Most would rather have contractual compensation reflected by better rates etc all year. Saves the annual dog and pony show around this time of year when we usually get whats owed. For me, I give no consideration to PBP as it and all of its machinations fall well outside the scope of my job. Just my view of a program that exists outside of our contract. Would trade it for pay-rates, rig and effective scope today. Prob a good focus program for the rest of the company but not really appropriate for pilots, mechanics and dispatchers.

DAL, yes. It is included in all your earnings calculations, ie for next years PS, for LTD calculations, etc

Yup, I heard Delta is paying a 10% bonus from now until the world ends to each pilot based the largest power bowl jackpot of each calendar year.🙄🙄🙄
The angry 30 just always has to complain, cry, and throw a tantrum. If we don’t snap up to the industry, which we most certainly will, a AS 12 year CA Average for the 2023 would be $309 plus our profit sharing. An honest person would recognize a compensated rate for the year of around $335. Not the losers on here though, basic math and being happy is impossible for this elite group🤔🙄😉

Most of my luck has been made by working very hard, a lot of that work came outside of aviation. Most of my friends don’t care what I make… None of my pilot friends are hurting, no matter where they work.

Every employer I've ever had offered some sort of bonus, but you only got it if either you or the company did good that year. Except the Navy. They just gave me medals.
