Yeah, that’s just not true. Plenty of guys and gals out west… just have to keep them from running to the big 3. I just don’t see us actively trying to pull from back east.

What’s hilarious (but not surprising) is that PNW’s think think it’s only “Virgin’s” that would like to see a base anywhere East of the Rocky’s. You might not be aware, but people are migrating en masse AWAY from all our base cities

Alaska has the absolute least desirable pilot domiciles of any airline and it’s not even close

3) Only single fleet major airline to outsource 35-50% of all departures to regional subcontractors.
4) Only major passenger airline to fly dedicated, converted cargo aircraft.
I'd argue that 2 and 3 are not good things.

So, 99% of our ANC base lives in AK. 92% of our PDX base lives in the PNW, and 90% of the SEA base lives in the PNW. But I realize that’s only like 75% of our pilot group. That leaves 58% of our LAX group live CA or the DSW… That leaves about 30% of SFO that lives in CA.
Add all that up and please explain the mass exodus. That’s roughly 2700 pilots that live in base or within a 1.5 hour flight. I mean people are leaving but like a trickle because of bases. Most, let’s call it what it is, all are leaving for what they believe to be a better career. East coast, Rocky Mountains, mass exodus back east… well that’s just not true!

Im talking about the mass exodus in general dude… not just pilots. I realize that might have escaped you since I realize news of anything happening East of the Cascades travels slow in and out of The Tiny Kingdom of Gig Harbor, but, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee… even Alabama has been PNW and Cali transplants over the last 5 years.

0.5% isn't an exodus. But whatever your radio tells you must be true.

Why don’t you go back to enjoying the retirement instead of making wild guesses
