Default PBS questions

I'm in the bottom 10% in SEA. Will be moving to base soon.

Will waving everything and having 0 negative preferences give me a good chance of holding a line?

I have 100% flexibility and just want a line. I don't care about when or where I'm flying.

Excuse my ignorance, I have never used PBS before.

You will probably need a little more seniority to hold a line.

Might hold a line in slow months, when seniors might bid reserve to enjoy some quite time at home.

Hard to judge right now, PBS will change the balance of things.

Run a "Roster Report" on Crew Access and check out the seniority numbers of people on reserve.

You'll have a chance of holding a line, even as a plug, if you really waive all restrictions, no negatives.

Are you holding a line in SFO and moving to SEA with one of the effective dates of the position bids? I'm SEA based with similar seniority and will be shocked if I get a line right away with PBS. Happy to be wrong.

But you might be better off on reserve.

The hard lines are built with some sort of human rational logic, even the OF lines up to a point.

An wide-open aperature PBS solution could be amazingly bad, literally whatever is left over, and wherever it (barely) legally fits. There's a reason those trips will be left over...

I wish I bid SFO initially but I didn’t. I have been in LA and will be coming up to Seattle in a few weeks.

As someone who commuted from AK to SFO you aren’t missing out.
