I was being sarcastic but don’t worry. The NO voters will be here soon enough to explain why this is a bad deal.

Hmm. Going to have to ponder that one. If DOT approval is done and the merger stock transaction is complete when the vote closes then it probably makes sense. Protects us if JCBA drags out for some reason. If JCBA goes smoothly and quickly (which looks to be the company's intent), then the extension is OBE anyway.

There's no way we're getting an independent AS contract with a JCBA in progress.

To extend the amendable date and provide for two more snap-ups? What's your reasoning? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

During JCBA negotiations, it is common industry practice to suspend or postpone separate Section 6 negotiations. Often this is agreed to in the Transition Process Agreement (TPA). In this merger, however, the two MECs opted to address their Section 6 openers independently.
So the Hawaiians are on their own then, and slip further behind?

We already have a bunch of pay raises scheduled during that time period. I thinkk this keeps you in pace (percentage wise) with our raises and matches up when Section 6 would start.
